Starring Robert Redford, Nick Nolte and Emma Thompson, A Walk in the Woods is a hilarious and touching comedy based on the book by celebrated travel writer Bill Bryson. Reluctant to settle into retirement, Bryson (Redford) challenges himself to hike the legendary Appalachian Trail – over 2,100 miles through some of the most spectacular and rugged wilderness in America. But the peace and tranquillity he hopes to find on the grand trail proves elusive when he agrees to make the journey with his old high school buddy Katz (Nolte); a wisecracking, larger-than-life personality who is out of shape and arguably out of his mind. As the two men set off into the wilderness, they encounter an assortment of eccentric characters, wild animals and perilous weather in an epic journey that will test the limits of their friendship.
The Old Man & the Gun is based on the mostly true story of Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford), from his daring prison escape at age 70 to a string of heists that confounded authorities and enchanted the public. Wrapped up in the pursuit are detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck), who is captivated by Forrest’s commitment to his craft, and the woman (Sissy Spacek) who loves him despite his criminal ways.
While an angry, post-Civil War nation seeks vengeance, a young union war hero must defend a mother accused of aiding her son in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Jim Grant (Robert Redford) is a civil rights lawyer and single father raising his daughter in the tranquil suburbs of Albany, New York. His world is turned upside down, when a brash young reporter named Ben Shepard (Shia LaBeouf), exposes Grant’s true identity as a former 1970s anti-war radical fugitive wanted for murder. After living for more than 30 years underground as a lawyer, Grant must now go on the run. He is the centre of a nationwide manhunt and with the FBI in hot pursuit, he sets off on a cross-country journey to track down the one person that can clear his name. For his 9th film as director, Academy Award winner Robert Redford tapped some of the top talent working in film today, including Julie Christie (Darling), Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Terrence Howard (Prisoners) and Chris Cooper (The Bourne Trilogy). Redford also turned to some of the brightest young actors working today, including Shia LaBeouf (Transformers), and rising stars Brit Marling (Another Earth) and Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air), in supporting roles.
